Misha's Vineyard

Impromptu by Misha's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010 13.5% abv
Nose and palate: This wine will please many who like Pinot - a sound core of light red fruits and centering on the flavors of brown spices, chocolate and cherry with an oaky vanillin signature. The palate is firm and dry with a powerhouse of red fruits then medium+ tannins and acid. Cherry rich, flavourful and very drinkable - now.

Misha's Vineyard

Misha's Vineyard 'Verismo' Pinot Noir 2009
34% New French Oak (300 litre Hogsheads)
While there is not much of this wine available it is worth a mention as it's a great wine for listing.
Nose and Palate: Fragrant, floral, specific, focused; a raspberry and cherry lifted bouquet with a touch of red apple skin, complex and attention seeking. On the palate - dry with a lovely expression of 'pinosity' and tension then complexity leading to a feminine, floral and gently flavored wine. Fine tannins and lengthy finish. A must buy.

Aparently there is a little of the '08 available as well - I'd contact Misha directly to find out - darker fruit expression with wild thyme, schist and dried herbs, a lengthy finish (4.5 Stars 90 Points)

Misha's Vineyard

Misha's Vineyard 'The High Note' Pinot Noir 2009
27% New French Oak (300 Litre Hogsheads), abv - 14%
Light ruby with medium concentration and a bright purple rim
Nose and Palate: While immediately varietal with a clean and forward expression - this wine also captures a gentle feminine side as well. There is also a wild thyme layer that speaks to its Central Otago loco' as well as a complexity only Olly Masters can bring to a wine with his blending skills and understanding of oak. The palate does reflect the [still] youthful side to the wine with fine yet piquant tannins. The wine finishes as it began with a gentle feel and the tannins again reminding me of the fine texture and complexity they have brought to this expression.

Misha's Vineyard

Misha's Vineyard 'Limelight' Riesling 2011
RS - 25 gpl, abv - 11.5%, Some old French barrel influence
Nose and Palate: This medium style Riesling captured my interest immediately - I agree with many of the ideas that wine maker Olly Masters suggests including the lime, lemongrass and jasmine attributes. For me there are also soft gentle spices and a great balance with the RS and low pH with a long and memorable finish.

Nose and Palate: Quite a delicate bouquet with a gentle varietal focus and lift; The palate is equally gentle and harmonious with an undertone of quartz soil flavor that enhances the delicate side of this example. Overall a delightful wine with an elegant finish.

Misha's Vineyard 'Dress Circle' Pinot Gris 2011
RS - 8.5, abv 14%, old French Barrel
Nose and Palate: Flavors of grated pear and apple; a voluptuous edge and mineral undertones. A second taste reveals a citrus flourish accentuated by a youthful sprtizy note adding an enticing texture.
Overall a delicious wine. Balanced and well made.
