Millton

Millton Clos de Ste Anne Naboth's Vineyard Chardonnay '09
N: Don't let the first aromas fool you - there is a very complex bouquet of white flowers, warm and generous fruits and personality silently waiting your attention; soft stone fruit, hints of golden melon and blonde tobacco; as the wine is swirled and absorbs more oxygen the bouquet unfurls its splendor.
P: Youthful,  primary and complex: Plenty of acidity emphasizes a younger side - yet the stone fruits and delicate tropical note, sweet citrus layers and playful oak (adding structure) suggests to me there is a long and necessary development time for this wine.  The finish moderate just now, but I know it will extend in time. The complexity too is sitting in the shadows of the power and intensity of the fruit and oak. Three to five more years in cellar will prove a sound investment. 94 points (5 Stars +)

Millton

Millton Opou Vineyard Chardonnay '09
N: Figs, peaches, melons; silky oak notes; complex, interesting and inviting.
P: Soft, generous and inspiring. The outer edges of the palate show the acid and structure different from many other chardonnays I have tasted - an electric field of energy that shimmers and draws my attention; cashew flavors from the oak add a delicious and nutty/sweet note; youthful still with medium plus length. 4.5 stars.

Mud House

Mud House Golden Terraces Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010
N: Youthful, light, generous of fruits, light dry herb suggestions, taut and youthful.
P: Reflects the nose with cranberry, red cherry, bing cherry; Medium plus ripe and savory tannins - as they unfold are fruit then oak. The oak overall brings complexity, structure and balance. Very Good overall. 3 Stars.

Mud House

Mud House The Mound Vineyard Riesling 2010
N:Generous and powerful citrus bouquet - Germanic with slate-like minerality and a castor sugar residual sugar suggestion.
P: Off-dry and delicious! Keep making Riesling please. A great balance between the core of fruit and acidity along with an under-currant of minerality suggesting slate flavors. 5 stars.

Mud House

Mud House The Home Block Vineyard Pinot Gris 2010 (6 gpl-rs)
N: Fragrant and varietal with classic pear, red and yellow apple and light white spice aromatics.
P: The higher acidity suggests a drier wine overall. The fruit and spice suggestion return with more intensity on the palate. Great texture and length with a silkin finish - 5 stars.

Mud House

Mud House Woolshed Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2010
N: Classic, powerfully fruity, tropical and immensely generous.
P: Dry and herbaceous with piercing acidity equaled by intense fruit flavors, quite herbaceous with a great fruity finish. 4.5 stars.

Auburn Wines

Auburn Riesling 2010 Lowburn Central Otago 10.5%abv 64gpl- RS
N: Very fruity and juicy with sweet florals and citrus bouquet; Ripe, sweet lemon and juicy stone fruit salad suggestions; A hint of lees contact and fresh mineral quartz undertones.
P: Off-dry with the high residual sugar and high acidity teasing the palate immediately; the juicy and mouth-watering fruits are balanced and contrasted by the acidity. Well chilled this could work as an aperitif or at cellar temperature a fine wine with desserts of close-to equal sweetness. 3½ Stars
