Amisfield Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Central Otago
Fresh, lively and quite fruity with apple, citrus and a light layer of tropical fruit; plenty of fresh water minerals and a hint of lime flower. On the palate - dry, crisp, quite firm and with a mild herbaceous tone. Fruit flavours reflect the nose with an edge of tropical; high acidity, light weight, plenty of mineral under current, balanced and well made.

Maude

Maude East Block Riesling 2015 Central Otago
Powerful and distinctive bouquet of apple blossom, old fashioned lemonade, green apple and white rose, a light mineral undertone builds as the wine opens-up. On the palate - juicy, lush, plush and packed with flavour. It is also off-dry with a medium level of sweetness - pushing a powdered coated red apple flavour and sweet lemon twist. Long finish, a lovely wine.

Maude Pinot Gris 2015 Central Otago
Full bouquet with an abundance of ripe white fleshed fruits centering on pear and Asian pear, white nectarine and white peach, touch of spice. On the palate - just dry with a nudge of sweetness, medium+ acidity and medium weight. Flavours of tree fruit and lemon twist, hints of apple and a light white spice layer. Some phenolic work had added texture and length making this an example worth exploring and adding to a wine list or cellar.

Amisfield

Amisfield Pinot Noir Rosé 2015 Central Otago
Loaded with strawberry, plum, cranberry, roses and lifted aromatic Pinot Noir appeal; a light undercurrent of stony mineral adds a touch of complexity. On the palate - fresh, crisp, fruity, light and all Pinot Noir. The mineral note emerges stronger on the palate and with a gentle light dried herb quality the wine develops its own level of charm. Balanced and well made.

VNO

VNO Skinny Rosé Hawke's Bay 2015
Produced and bottled by VNO wine Huapai Auckland
Very very fruity bouquet of white rose, red melon, pink candy-floss and strawberry cream; overall simple . On the palate equally fruity with flavours that reflect the nose and quite sweet too (Graham Norton would love this), enough acidity to bring balance and a little charm. Overall a simple totally drinkable wine ready for Summer 2016.

Dragon Bones

Dragon Bones Waitaki Valley Pinot Gris 2013 (North Otago)
Produced and bottled by www.lonehill.co.nz
Immediate varietal signature of Gris with white fleshed fruits wrapped in an ocean of creamy honeysuckle and light white spice; suggestion of apple and pear skin. On the palate - just dry with a little residual sugar, medium+ acidity and bold phenolic attack introducing a citrus peel note and slight Alsace-like bitter note at the back of the palate which finishes the wine. I am hoping the more aggressive elements in the wine subside over the coming 12 months to reveal a charming and elegant expressive Pinot Gris which I am certain lies beneath.

Dragon Bones Waitaki Valley Riesling 2013 (North Otago)
Produced and bottled by www.lonehill.co.nz
Very fragrant with sweet apple and apricot blossom, ripe meyer lemon, green apple and mandarin peel. On the palate - off-dry with noticeable residual sugar - expertly balanced by high acidity adding contrast, balance and palate appeal. Flavors of citrus and tree fruits return with an underlying minerality and finesse. A touch sweet for some, but a great wine for Vietnamese and Filapino cuisines.
