Greywacke

Greywacke Pinot Gris 2013 Marlborough
Sophisticated and layered bouquet with scents of stony mineral and wild flowers, honeysuckle and a medley of white fleshed fruit lead by Asian pear (Nashi) and yellow apple; a hint of lemon. On the palate: off-dry with some residual sweetness immediately contrasted by textures from acidity, phenolics and a touch of lees followed by a citrus, wild honey, white peach and other tree fruit flavors. Medium+ acidity, fresh and finishes quite long.
A particular expression of Gris that sets it apart from many of the standard examples on the market currently.
89 Points
