Maude

Maude Pinot Noir 2014 Central Otago
Fruity, lively, fresh and distinctive with plenty pinosity: plums, dark cherry and other red berry fruits, medium oak spice layer and moderate mineral suggestions. On the palate - dry, highly textured with medium fine to tense tannins, medium+ acidity and a core of red fruit flavors; moderate+ (ish) oak; balanced and well made with medium+ length. A lovely wine.

Maude Reserve Pinot Noir 2014 Mt Maude Vineyard Central Otago
Dense, slightly broody with a core of dark berries and black plum, plenty of mineral and oak with pinosity at its heart and medium++ complexity. On the palate - equally complex, fruity, dry and packed with flavor and texture; there's a savory whole bunch layer and lots of oak spice and tension; medium+ fine tannins and acidity with a long complex finish. A wine for the cellar and to enjoy from 2017 on-wards through to 2023. Very well crafted example.
