Te Mania

Te Mania Nelson Chardonnay 2014 12.5%
There's no mistaking the gentle creamy bouquet of this Chardonnay with soft ripe peach, apple and citrus aromas with mild yet obvious oak spices. On the palate - a dry, medium+ to full-bodied wine with flavors of citrus first then subtle layers of peach and apple to follow. The oak adds both flavor and spice elements with medium+ acidity adding bite. Overall a charming example in a food oriented style i  its youth. Well made with moderate+ length.

A familiar and classic bouquet of ripe sweet citrus, tree and tropical fruits laced with a grassy herbaceous edge and soft spice layer. On the palate - juicy, lush and crisp with plenty acidity to contrast the ripe flavors of green apple, grapefruit and mango. A balanced wine with medium length and complexity in a crowd pleasing style. Always well made from this producer.

Sacred Hill Hawke's Bay Merlot Cabernet 2013 13.5%
A noticeable mix of ripe red fruit aromas alongside some gentle toasty oak present a bouquet with some charm and promise. On the palate - dry, fruity and youthful with moderate dusty tannins and medium+ acidity; plenty of dark red fruit flavors and light toasty oak attributes. A wine that will easily pair with red meat or chicken dishes that have a light peppercorn and cream sauce with a few olives thrown.

Richmond Plains

Richmond Plains Sauvignon Blanc 2014 Nelson 13.%
Punchy fragrant bouquet with aromas of hot lemon, sweet peach and tropical fruit salad; a sweet hay and herbaceous layer adds complexity and varietal distinctiveness. On the palate - just dry and also punchy with sweet hay and herb led mix of flavors; the lemon, peach and island fruits emerge second; lots of bracing and salivating acidity contrasts a sweet spot mid-palate; moderate length and complexity. Well made.
