Churton

Churton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013 14%
An elegant, sophisticated and expressive bouquet with wild Meyer lemon and apple fruits core; the sting of a natural ferment, suggestion of some wood contact and mineral undercurrent; wild herbs and a mild grassyness; complex and youthful. The palate shows a wine of youth and complexity; dry with high acidity and impact - takes a moment to get used to - then the influence of site and wine-making show - creamy wood tones intertwined with fresh lemon and apple fruit flavors. Balanced now, but new kinds of balance will emerge as this wine ages. Really pleased the oak is not over done.

Churton Marlborough Viognier 2013 14.5%
An unbelievably elegant and floral bouquet with layers of gentle stone fruit and yellow flowers; as the wine begins to unfold in the glass the use of oak begins to emerge then swings back to blossom and apricot - very cool experience.
On the palate - a dry+ wine with a very specific texture of gentle creaminess and medium+ acidity; a light sting of natural fermentation adds a layer; stone fruit and light citrus flavors; medium+ length, balanced and well made with a 2-3 year cellar life. The alcohol does not distract.

Churton Petit Manseng 2013 Marlborough 10.5% 83gpl-RS pH2.83
Packed with fresh and poached stone fruit aromas, quite floral and stony; medium+ intensity. On the palate - fantastic! obviously sweet, but contrasted superbly with powerful acidity; flavors of apple tart-tartin, mandarin blossom poached pear, the mineral undertones are quiet yet remain. beautifully balanced with medium++ finish.

Churton Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012 12.5%
A rich and fruity bouquet, a distinctive and complex bouquet; aromas of ripe light red fruits some dried herb moments, a whisper of wild thyme and rich red apple skin; quite organic as well. On the palate - complex, dry and alluring yet youthful; lots of textures emerge from fine tannins and medium+ acidity; the oak already shows a happy harmony with the fruit flavors and skin tannins; a wine to discover now and in the future from cellar after 2-5 years more. Lovely finish which is long lasting and persistent.
