Sacred Hill

Sacred Hill 'Riflemans' Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2014
White peach, apple, honey and gentle oak spices lead the bouquet - a distinctive youthful edgyness and clay-like mineral combine to add complexity to an already interesting package of aromas. On the palate - crisp, dry, medium+ acidity and plenty of power from the oak and core of fruit - showing white peach, apple and citrus - especially grapefruit; the oak has a medium+ (ish) impact. Overall a lovely wine with plenty of integration time ahead and with smart cellaring should reward for no less than 5-8 years.
90 Points
