Mills Reef

Mills Reef Reserve Merlot Malbec 2008 Hawke's Bay
N: No shortage of fruit aromas in this still youthful and lifted wine. The aromas are not intense though, yet display 'typical' attributes of both Merlot (plums: Doris and cooked) and Malbec (Keri-berry and a little cooked blue-berry). A mix of new and older oak suggestions.
3.5 Stars

P: Dry, warmish at first and a pleasant and approachable palate with moderate tannin impact, mild complexity, medium acidity and a medium to medium+ finish. Balanced and as always a well crafted wine.
3.5 Stars
