Yealands

Peter Yealands P.G.R. Marlborough 2014 12.5%
Pinot Gris, Riesling & Gewurztraminer
Very fruity, mildly tropical and floral bouquet - apples, peaches and pear fruits laced with citrus lead the aroma package - mild spice and leesy suggestions add a little complexity and adventure.
On the palate - same as the nose suggests with lots of fruit impact, medium+ acidity and a refreshing mix of flavors - I like the way the Riesling eventually trumps the Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. Balanced and well made.

Yealands Estate Single Vineyard P.G.R. Awatere Valley - Marlborough 13%
Pinot Gris - Gewurztraminer - Riesling
I notice the Gris first with aromas of lightly spiced white fruits followed by the floral and spice notes of Gewurztraminer; fruity and generous bouquet.
On the palate - dry(ish) and quite crisp with flavors of white fruits and tropical fruits; a back bone of acidity and citrus flavors (Riesling) add balance and length to the palate. A well made example of a classic blend.
