Coopers Creek Marlborough Pinot Gris 'The Pointer' 2014 13.5%
This is a more complex expression of Gris with a mineral centre that dovetails into aromas pear skin and apple skin, then the flesh of each and hints of lychee - all laced with a white pepper spice suggestion. On the palate - a dryer style of Gris that has both concentration (mod) and a core of fruit; medium+ acidity and finish this is a very nice expression. It is often hard to find a memorable and tasty Gris in NZ, but this wine delivers - well done Mr. Nunns!

Coopers Creek Swamp Reserve Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2013 Reserve 14%
Complex and highly scented bouquet with a mix of peach, fig, apple, apricot and nutty toasty oak suggestions - each swirl delivers more. On the palate - a full-bodied dry wine with that is youthful with its punchy oak and medium+ acidity, but also very drinkable now too with the right food, glass and company; cashew, peaches, and vanilla flavored figs are only part of this wines complexity. This is a full-bodied wine as well. Balanced, but still developing. Well made and not for the faint of heart wine drinker.
