Gibbston Valley 'School house' Pinot Noir 2016 Central Otago
Quite a complex bouquet with a mix of dark red cherry, red apple skin and spiced plum alongside a savoury, dried herb and mushroom quality; moderate oak influences with a mix of darker brown spices and fresh wood. On the palate - youthful, savoury and firm then flavours of dark cherry and berries return; youthful firm tannins and plenty of crisp acidity. Fairly lengthy finish; well made in a drink now or cellar style style. Best from late 2018 through 2026.
