Aravin

Aravin Pinot Gris 2017 Central Otago
A lovely ripe, fresh, youthful and inviting bouquet of fresh bosc pear, red apple and grapefruit peel, a stony mineral and white pepper moment adds some depth and intrigue. On the palate – juicy, fleshy, plush, textured and just dry with a lengthy finish. Balanced and well-made. Lovely food wine or as an aperitif – drink now and though 2020.

Aravin Pinot Noir 2015 Central Otago
100% PN on the nose with aromas of dried raspberry and black cherry laced with violet and stony soils suggestions, savoury dried herb, mild to moderate wood aromas of dusty clove and vanilla with toasty wood notes, a youthful quiver & with a building complexity as the wine opens up in the glass. On the palate – very youthful with a tense and obvious impact from the tannins and acidity; the flavours described above do emerge with a very youthful attack. Will continue to develop for some time yet. Decant for service. Best from 2019 through 2029.
