Monowai

Monowai Pinot Noir 2013 Hawke's Bay
Seductive ripe red fruits and baking spices with a warm and generous bouquet; old strawberry, warm raspberry and 5 spice plum suggestions with medium toasty oak qualities and generous overall expression. On the palate - youthful, tense, dry, fruity; very youthful on the palate with lots of acidity and moderate tannins still settling in; flavours of red berry fruits emerge then crushed stone, dried herb and mild oak flavours force their way into the forefront of flavour. Needs further integration time of at least a year. Decant for service with food or cellar through 2017 and try again. This wine has potential - just needs some time.
