Bannock Brae Estate 'Goldfields' Pinot Noir 2014 Central Otago
Dark red berry fruit aromas with black cherry, blueberry and plum; bramble, wild herb and stony soil suggestions add complexity and depth; noticeable new oak suggestions. On the palate - dry and quite fruity with dense, moist dark red berry fruits and plum flavours; medium to fine tannins with a silky texture, plenty of oak - though well contrasted by the fruit concentration; medium+ length. Overall a balanced and well made wine with a decent finish. Drinking well now - though decanting recommended and ideal window for drinking 2017 - 2020.
