Rippon Vineyard and Winery

Rippon Young Vine Pinot Noir 2011 Lake Wanaka Central Otago
Lots of energy and with a sense of completeness - aromas of stony silty soils, light red fruits with a red apple moment; plenty of wood spice layers. On the palate - dry, youthful and loaded with texture - fine tannins and medium+ acidity coupled with a deep floral and fruit core present a wine of complexity and harmony yet very much at the beginning of its journey; lengthy yet subtle finish; drinkable now with an ideal window from 2018 - 2025.

Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir 2011 Lake Wanaka Central Otago
Distinctive bouquet with reminders of soil and place, Burgundy and ripe New World pinosity; aromas of wild ferment woven into light red fruits - strawberry and red cherry, a touch of leather and red velvet; a light mushroom note and integrating wood tones. On the palate - dry, warm, spicy, loaded with light red fruit flavours and oak moments; lots of energy too; fine tannins and medium+ acidity; quite a bit of tension and poise before the wine relaxes and lets go. Decant for service through 2018; ideal drinking 2019 - 2025
