Mahurangi River Winery 'Field of Grace' Chardonnay 2014 Matakana 
Very fruity and generous bouquet with aromas of white and yellow peach, some fresh and sweet apple, plenty of oak and spice, some mild cream and soft cheese moments - overall very inviting. On the palate - dry, warm, full-bodied and generous; flavours of stone fruit and noticeable wood, a toasty-ness adds flavour and depth; medium+ acidity, youthful and tense. Okay to drink now with food (cheese) but best if cellared and engaged again from late 2016.

Full, rich, creamy, toasty and oaky bouquet with lots of over whipped cream and vanilla scents, spice, some butterscotch and popcorn reminders. On the palate - full-bodied, rich and creamy; packed with Chardonnay flavours and intensity; no mistaking to impact of oak; roasted stone fruits and vanilla butter flavours; quite nutty on the finish, balanced and well made. Must like oak - if you do this wine is for you. Drink now and through 2019.
