Fromm Winery 'La Strada' Rose 2015 Marlborough
Pinot, Syrah, Malbec
A delicious and fragrant bouquet of light red berry fruits and sweet roses, a touch of cream and light mineral moments. On the palate - fruity, crisp, firm and dry with lots of Summer berry fruit and cherry flavours, very mild fine tannins, plenty of acidity and a charming finish. Well made and drinking perfectly now and through 2016.
Fromm Winery 'La Strada' Pinot Noir 2014 Marlborough
Complex bouquet packed with energy and concentration - aromas of mineral and soil first then wild and tamed red berry fruits - darker cherry and plum; some wild raspberry; quite calm wood spices and toasty mild vanilla note. On the palate - delicious - youthful, tense, plenty of acidity and fine silky to chalky textured tannins; medium+ concentration and a lengthy finish. The oak hovers above and below waiting to integrate further into the wine. Decent for service through 2017; ideal window for drinking 2019 - 2025.
Fromm Winery 'Clayvin Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2014 Marlborough
Very complex bouquet with a specific first message of terroir showing a silty clay and organic-like mix leading to dense and quite rich aromas of red berry fruits soaking up the obvious fragrances of oak - new and not so new. On the palate - dry, complex, fruity, mild spices, plenty of fine chalky and silky tannins, medium+ acidity; lots of texture and flavour and loaded with pinosity. A great example of Pinot Noir. Decent for service through 2017; ideal window for drinking 2020 - 2026
Fromm Winery 'Fromm Vineyard' Syrah 2012 Marlborough
Toasty, rich and very giving of Syrah aromas - darker berry fruits, quite meaty, peppercorns and a light dusting of freshly ground black pepper; loads of hard baked stony mineral notes. On the palate - complex, dry, medium+ weight with a back bone of acidity; darker berry fruit flavours return which are rip and packed with energy showing off the mid-palate core; long fine tannins, very lengthy finish; mild pepper and meat moments and a light layer of field mushroom. Decent for service through 2017; ideal drinking 2018 - 2025.
