Elephant Hill

Elephant Hill Merlot/Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2014 Hawke's Bay
Full, rich, toasty, fruity and packed with brown spice aromas; baked red fruits of plum and blackberry then chocolate and vanilla tones, complex, masculine, engaging. On the palate - full, rich, textured, dry and loaded with flavour; dark berry fruits, firm mealy tannins - fine to youthfully course, plenty of acidity and a very lengthy finish. Great wine for fleshy darker red meats, all kinds of crem-based pasta dishes and cheese.

Elephant Hill Syrah Reserve 2014 Hawke's Bay
Dark and broody bouquet with black pepper-laced dark red berry fruits, clove, toast, baked mushroom and aged red meats litter the bouquet, quite complex. On the palate - firm textures with abundant tannins, medium+ acidity and a core of fruit and oak jostling for attention; dark red berry fruit flavours, vanilla and clove, baked field mushroom and meat, a peppery finish, warm and long. Will age and integrate well over the next 2-4 years offering best drinking from 2018 through 2025.
