Saint Clair Family Estate Pioneer Block 17 Merlot 2014 Hawke's Bay
The Gimblett Gravels fruit really does punch through in the bouquet with sandy gravel and gruff masculine aromas then plump plum and darker berry tones, no mistaking the oak; youthful and quite complex. On the palate - fruity, dry, loaded with flavours of dark plum and dark berry fruits, a light sage dried herb layer, medium+ tannins and acidity. A delicious yet youthful wine with concentration, harmony and time on its side with a lovely lengthy finish that is 100% Merlot.
