Harris Estate Pinot Noir 2013 Waipara
Varietal, ripe, fruity and engaging with dark cherry and raspberry then toasty vanilla spice, fresh herb notes and oak attributes. On the palate - dry, fruity and young - flavours of cherry fruits and raspberry return, a very firm palate with tense tannins and acidity, quite herbal, agressive phenolics shortening the finish and a little distracting. A food wine for the moment - requiring plenty of tannin reducing elements. Overall okay.
