On the palate - lush, juicy, fresh, fruity and vibrant in flavour and texture; plenty of acidity and a lengthy finish - lots to like. A perfect sweet dessert or cheese wine.

Engaging bouquet with aromas of green apple and grapefruit then a silty limestone soil-like suggestions - bringing complexity and curiosity. On the palate - off-dry with some residual sweetness; flavours of apricot, peach, apple and grapefruit, plenty of acidity and honeysuckle, lengthy finish. An intriguing example with a lightly sweet finish.

Very fruity bouquet of ripe and poached tree fruits with pears and white fleshed fruits, some honey and honeysuckle suggestions, lees and light toasty barrel ideas. On the palate - juicy, textured, dry to off-dry with fleshy spicy fruit flavours, medium acidity and a return of the barrel spice layer; a pinch of phenolics add texture  - lengthening the palate and finish - nice work!

A Pinot Noir bouquet with red berry fruits and dried herb aromas, moderate complexity and appeal. On the palate - dry with medium+ acidity and fine to firm tannins; flavours of red berry fruits, bracken and dried herb, noticeable oak needs time to integrate and the wine to develop more. Decant and serve with full flavoured pasta dishes, rosemary laced rack of lamb.

Waipara River Estate Cabernet Sauvignon SV Release 2012 North Canterbury
Full-on cabernet bouquet with aromas of leaves, tobacco, iodine and herbs; the fruit follows with some blackberry and plum notes then a trace of angostura. On the palate - a dry red wine with the essence of Cabernet at the core; quite a herbal wine however with an under-ripe layer; coffee , dark berry fruit and plenty of tannins lead to a dry finish.
