Block 88

Black 88  Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010
Nose:Quite a dense and broody red fruit bouquet: plum and dark cherry, a dash of chocolate; moderate oak with a savory and mild toasty edge; medium+ complexity.

Palate: Moderate+ warmth is tamed by ripe and sound fruit flavors; moderately spiced oak and vanillin; plenty of complexity to distract the drinker away from the warmth of the alcohol (14.5%). Perhaps serve at cellar temperature (12.5 C). Don't get me wrong - I like this wine a lot - it works! Needs food to show off the attributes.
