Hartford Family Winery
Hartford Court 2009 Fog Dance, Russian River Valley (Or Green Valley) Pinot Noir
(Tasted at the Taj Hotel - Wine Maker's Dinner June 19th 2012)
Nose:A wine with feminine touches to the bouquet: a captivating mix of layers of spice from oak and a light (gentle) silty soil/mineral blend - then - aromas of light red fruits and lightly spiced oak.
Palate: The siltly/mineral signature on the nose returns on the palate. Flavors of yellow, red, sweet and sour cherry and even a little cranberry along with fine tannins, medium + (ish) acidity and a village Burgundy feel make for a very enjoyable taste experience. The oak is again not a big feature on this example, but adds complexity and even a little charm.
