Nose: Warm and quite rich in red fruits especially raspberry and black cherry, a meld of light brown spices, suggestions of some new oak and schist rock and complexity.

Palate: Dry with a warm and gentle fruit flavors mixed with light baking spice suggestions and an undertone of schistous earthiness. A touch of tart cherry alongside the medium acid adds a little punch on the finish. balanced and well made. I like this wine.

I have tasted a few vintages of the Explorer wines now and find that the 2010 is the best that Explorer have produced to date.
