Church Road McDonald Series

Church Road McDonald Series Hawke's Bay Chardonnay 2011
Nose: Every bit a Chardonnay, every bit a Hawke's Bay wine and every bit a classic. Deep and dense fruit core and oak centred bouquet to the spice and dried stone undertones - this is chardonnay!
Plenty of stone fruits engulfed in a nutty oak and slightly wild ferment adds complexity.
5 Stars (an easy 90 points)

Palate: Creamy (just) with medium+ acidity then a large bite of oak tempered by ripe fruit makes for an easy now or hold for 3+ years. Vanillin and roasted stone fruits finish - quite long. Balanced and well made.
5 Stars (90 Points)
